Mollie shared her diagnosis with her followers on Instagram earlier this week.

The star reposted a clip from ADHD Chatter Podcast’s episode with author Kat Brown.

The journalist opened up about herself being diagnosed with the attention deficit disorder.

Mollie wrote alongside the clip: “I’ve just recently been diagnosed after knowing for years and I’m just finally happy that everything makes sense now.”

The actress, who has played goth Nina Lucas on the soap since 2019, had recently hinted that she has suffered from anxiety throughout her life.

Mollie’s diagnosis comes just as her character has become embroiled in the soap’s current biggest plot.

Cobbles icon Roy Cropper, who is Nina’s Uncle, finding himself locked up in prison after he was wrongly accused of murdering missing teen Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).

Nina has worked with Roy’s close friends Carla Connor and Evelyn Plummer in a bid to free the innocent cafe owner.

Other celebrities have been diagnosed with ADHD, including , Sam Thompson, Nadia Sawalha and Emma Watson.

Made In Chelsea favourite Sam was diagnosed with two neurological conditions, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and autism aged 30.

The TV star then chronicled his journey to get answers in a Channel 4 documentary, Sam Thompson: Is This ADHD? lastyear.

Back in 2019 Olivia Attwood also opened up about having ADHD.

The reality favourite shared: “I was diagnosed with ADHD many many years ago and writing lists is one thing I was taught to do that helped me organise my thoughts.

“Every night before bed I right the next day in order of what I’m going to do, even things as simple as… eat breakfast.

What is ADHD?

ADHD is a behavioural condition defined by inattentiveness, hyperactivity and impulsiveness.

It affects around 2.6 million people in the UK – including 708 million children.

Symptoms typically appear at an early age and become more noticeable as a child grows

Most cases are diagnosed between six and 12 years old. Adults can also suffer, but there is less research into this.

ADHD’s exact cause is unclear but is thought to involve genetic mutations that affect a person’s brain function and structure.

Premature babies and those with epilepsy or brain damage are more at risk.

ADHD is also linked to anxiety, depression, insomnia, Tourette’s and epilepsy.

There is no cure.

A combination of medication and therapy is usually recommended to relieve symptoms and make day-to-day life easier.

“Find it so therapeutic and helps me feel in control of my day.”

Mollie joined Corrie in 2019 and is still a show regular.

Last year she appeared in ITV’s Dancing On Ice and narrowly missed out on a place in the final.

The actress wowed viewers as she attempted the head-banger with a shopping trolley ahead of Props week.

She was paired with Sylvain Longchambom.
