ROY Cropper is in mortal danger after being confronted by terrorist Griff in tonight’s Coronation Street.
The cafe owner – who is played by actor David Neilson in the ITV soap – is in prison awaiting trial charged with the murder of Lauren Bolton.
But with scant evidence he actually murdered her, the police have continued looking for a suspect.
Tonight it appeared they found one when groomer and abuser Nathan Curtis was arrested.
However it may be too late for banged up Roy in the prison.
Viewers watched as Griff blackmailed Roscoe into getting Roy out of his cell by threatening to life of his granddaughter.
With no choice, Roscoe promised to get Roy out of his cell – and used his love of reading to do it.
He fake spilled a cup of tea all over Roy’s book in an effort to trick him, but Roy saw through it.
And when he questioned him, Roscoe lied about not being able to read and wanting Roy’s help to learn.
Unfortunately Roy fell for it and followed Roscoe to the library and helped him pick up a book to learn to read before offering to help him there and then.
As Roy went back into his cell, he found that it had been turned upside down – and then the door slammed shut and Griff emerged.
“Griff Reynolds,” said Roy.
