Sky commissioning editor Shirley Jones said: “We can’t wait for the return of Never Mind The Buzzcocks later this year.”

“A whole host of the best names in music are poised to battle it out across your favourite rounds, intros at the ready.

“Expect mayhem, madness and a few surprises… Let the chaos commence!”

The team captains on the show are yet to be confirmed.

The last series, which aired last autumn, had Noel Fielding and Daisy May Cooper, as well as regular panellist Jamali Maddix as team captains.

Other comedians Harry HillKatherine Ryan, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Phil Wang, Judi Love, Sam Campbell and Amy Gledhill also appeared on the series.

Along with musicians such as Suggs, Paloma Faith, Billy Porter, Jake Shears, Roisin Murphy, Gregory Porter, Chesney Hawkes and Ricky Wilson.

Greg said: “I’m delighted that Buzzcocks is coming back. I can’t wait to give more musicians the chance to increase their cool by hanging out with fat uncle Greg and his three odd children.”

Guests who take part in a series will play rounds relating to popular culture.

British Comedy Guide reported there will be new rounds.

Sky is yet to confirm its air date.

Previous episodes of Never Mind The Buzzcocks are available on Sky on-demand and NOW TV.
