PREGNANT This Morning star Sian Welby has revealed her replacement on the show ahead of her maternity leave.
The TV and radio presenter, 37, visited an inter-generational care village on today’s programme, exploring how it helps nursery children and elderly residents.
The pair already work together on Capital radio[/caption]And she returned later in the show to talk through the day’s showbiz gossip, before announcing who will be stepping in for her while she’s away.
On her last day in the studio she revealed Jordan North has been tasked with the job, calling him “the perfect guy”.
She said: “I know the showbiz news needs to be left in good hands and somebody that deals with showbiz stories every morning and actually works alongside me most mornings when I am doing the radio… This is the handover of all handovers!”
“I really think this is the perfect guy for the job, I work with him every morning and he’s fantastic. It is Jordan North everybody!”
Jordan then appeared in a shower of confetti to share his excitement at joining the team.
He said: “I’ve got a new shirt on for this and everything.”
The cheeky star added: “I’m just the supply teacher for the summer.”
As her final segment concluded, Sian was presented with flowers and a gift bag including an ‘I heart This Morning’ baby vest.
On Friday she was thrown the ultimate baby shower by Jordan and fellow co-star Chris Stark.
During the celebrations Sian told them she’s having a girl, joking that she could “give birth today”.
Jordan and Chris took part in a game as Sian made them strap on a real-life watermelon so that they can see how heavy it feels to carry a baby.
Celebrity messages from the likes of Sonny Jay, Josie Gibson, Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were played ahead of her baby leave too.
Sian said: “I’ve just had the best morning it’s been so much fun.”
Chris replied: “Good. You deserve it. We’re getting so many lovely messages into the show today.”
Sian added: “Honestly, I’ve had so many. And obviously, you know, it’s been a great morning with you boys, the breakfast team, you know, I love you. You’ve all been so supportive and brilliant.
“But I do want to say a few words to our listeners, if I can I’ve written something down because I just really want to just make it clear that it has been an absolute pleasure and an honour being able to share this pregnancy with you all.
“Like, you know, as soon as I’d had that scan at 20 weeks, I told you guys, and I shared it with the UK.
“And it’s just been an incredible journey. I’ve just loved it.
“And I’ve appreciated all of you listening, you know, texting in your help, your words of advice, you’ve shared your stories with me, you’ve shared your struggles with me.

This is one of those jobs where you get to connect with people. And you end up feeling like you all know each other.
“And let me tell you, we have laughed on this show. We’ve cried. We’ve talked about IVF miracles, we’ve talked about weird cravings.
“And before I go off on baby leave, I’ve decided that I do want to share one more thing with everyone.
“Because I’ve decided that Capital Breakfast, it doesn’t have listeners, we are a family. Right.
“And I have told my nearest and dearest, what me and my partner Jake are having because we did find out the sex and you’re all invested.
“And it’s just been so nice that everyone even cares. It’s just lovely.
“So I’ve decided as a huge thank you to all of you that have been on this journey with me. I’m going to tell you what I’m having….. It’s a girl!”
Sian, who announced her pregnancy in February, will be covered by Kemi Rodgers on the station.
Her baby girl is her and radio producer fiancé Jake Beckett‘s first child.
