SPRINGWATCH viewers were left completely open-mouthed by Chris Packham and his latest fashion choice.
The BBC naturalist and broadcaster took to the airwaves once again for the annual programme.
Chris Packham caused controversy with his seemingly extravagant outfit choice[/caption] He has appeared on the popular nature show since 2009[/caption] Viewers couldn’t help but notice the prominent Prada branding on the bucket hat[/caption]Chris Packham, 63, is a familiar face to viewers as he has presented Springwatch and its Autumn and Winter editions since 2009.
He once again fronted the live ‘Watch Out’ edition of the long-running nature tracker show alongside Hannah Stitfall, 58.
They sat in their special bar, The Pecker and Bush as he sipped on a non-alcoholic beer after the watershed.
The broadcaster was dressed in a bold yellow and mustard coat over a lime green puffer jacket.
Although he was broadcasting outside and seemed to be ready for the occasion, it was another piece of the ensemble that caught the eyes of viewers.
During the entire 22 minute broadcast he appeared on screen wearing a bucket hat.
However, this is no ordinary head piece as viewers quickly noticed the Prada branding on the right hand side, directly facing the camera.
According to the designers official website, a similar Tundra coloured nylon hat fetches a price of £520.
Viewers took to X – formerly known as Twitter – as they were left completely shocked by the presence of such an item.
One viewer asked: “Is Chris wearing a Prada hat?.”
A second noted the enormous price tag, writing: “Geezer on Springwatch wearing a £500 prada bucket hat.”
“Packham’s Prada hat on Springwatch. ,” clapped a third fan.
Whilst a fourth penned: “Chris packham rocking the prada bucket hat whilst hosting #springwatch.”
And a fifth viewer added: “Well I suppose he can afford one… Or maybe it was a gift… It’s probably recycled … and Prada don’t use real fur anymore so … Anyway … Enough on Chris’s posh bucket hat.”

Autumnwatch began as a one-off, but was expanded into its own series from 2006 to 2022
Last year, the Beeb cancelled Autumnwatch citing budget concerns and having a smaller audience than its counterparts

Bill, known for his work with The Goodies, exited the programme in 2008, followed by Simon in 2010 and Kate in 2011
