THE Fortune Hotel fans have demanded a shake-up after slamming contestants who ‘don’t know how to play’ the game.
The new ITV show, which hit our screens last Monday, has certainly left viewers on the edge of their seats.
The programme, hosted by Stephen Mangan, has followed 10 pairs trying to battle it out for £250,000 hidden in ONE of their suitcases.
The couples are tasked with a challenge during the day, and then in the evening, they decide if they want to keep or swap their suitcases in the Lady Luck bar.
The Fortune Hotel is the ultimate game of deception – and some viewers aren’t happy with contestants as they don’t think they are very good at playing the game.
During this evening’s instalment, Jo-Anne even started crying while she was chatting with Jae and Cherish over what had happened the night before.
Many have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their frustrations.
One wrote on the platform: “I don’t understand why they are all taking it so personally! It’s a dog eat dog game.”
Another asked: “What’s with #Cherish and #Jae and the intense dislike of everyone else? Particularly Dan and Claire. They’re ruining their own experience of what should a fun game.”
A third chimed in: What are they crying for. It’s a silly game.”
“Why are you explaining why you gave someone the card??? It’s a game!,” a fourth said.
It comes after last week fans raged as they slammed ITV for ‘scripted and staged’ scenes.
Viewers spotted a pattern between certain contestants after it was spotted that they players who won the Early Checkout Card also found themselves on top of the daily tasks.
Lesley and Gary won it on Wednesday, followed by Jae and Cherish on Thursday.
One fumed on social media: So YET AGAIN everything that happens, happens to the people with the card and the money. Come on now, it’s way beyond a coincidence now.”
Another also pointed it out as they wrote: “I noticed this a few nights ago. This is beginning to seem very scripted & staged. I think to spice the show up in the future they should some nights force all contestants to swap cases regardless. It’s becoming boring.”
A third said: “So the team with the early checkout have won the challenge again?
Last week others shared their frustration when one of the instalments ended on a very tense cliffhanger.
