GOOD Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid has reacted to former co-star Piers Morgan’s ITV daytime return three years after quitting the show.
The pair presented Good Morning Britain together for six years before Piers, 59, dramatically quit after walking off set in 2021.
Piers returned to the studios today to appear on ITV’s Lorraine to chat about his recent TalkTV interview with the allegedly “real-life Martha” from the hit Netflix show Baby Reindeer, Fiona Harvey.
During today’s instalment of Good Morning Britain, hosts Susanna and Ed Balls, 57, went over to the Lorraine studio so that presenter Lorraine Kelly, 64, could give an insight into what viewers could expect from her upcoming show.
Lorraine said: “Mr Piers Morgan is in the building and he is here!”
She explained: “We’ve got Piers on, speaking many things, including of course Baby Reindeer.”
Susanna replied: “That interview that Piers did with the woman allegedly the subject of that Netflix mega hit, Baby Reindeer, was fascinating,”
The journalist added: “I look forward to seeing Piers.”
During his chat with Lorraine, Piers couldn’t help but make a cheeky dig at his former colleague.
The broadcaster compared Lorraine and the “real-life Martha” and said that the similarity was “uncanny” because of their hair colour and accent.
Before appearing on Lorraine, Piers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to make light at his return.
He said: “Just walked past the @GMB studio and nearly stormed back IN!”
The TV star also shared a snap of him posing in a mirror with the caption: “Let Loose in ITV again…”
Piers quit Good Morning Britain in 2021 following a dramatic on-air row with co-star Alex Beresford.
The pair clashed over Piers’ comments towards Meghan Markle and ITV later released a statement to confirm he left the breakfast show.
The statement read: “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain.
“ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”
Piers joined Good Morning Britain in 2015.
He now presents his own show Piers Morgan Uncensored with TalkTV.
Piers took to X last month to wish Good Morning Britain a happy 10th birthday.
He said: “Happy 10th anniversary to @GMB – I spent five fun, eventful years there, and loved every minute. Here’s a picture of me on my first (April 13, 2015) and last (March 9, 2021) day… divorce is never easy!”
