EASTENDERS fans were left unimpressed by the soap’s recent attempt of a shock cliffhanger.
The doof doof moment on Monday’s BBC soap opera fell flat amongst loyal fans of the programme who were insisting it was “cringeworthy”.
George and Junior finally came face-to-face on EastEnders[/caption] However, the scene left viewers cringing to the core[/caption]On the programme, fans watched on as Vic landlord George came face-to-face with his estranged son in The Boxing Den.
Over recent weeks, former boxer George has been taking part in illegal fights and was left utterly stunned at his latest opponent.
Having already been embroiled in family turmoil with the passing of his adoptive mother Gloria and the sick revelation about his racists adoptive father, George was hoping to deal with anything other than his long-lost son.
He has also faced a blow by being told that his health was deteriorating as a result of his countless knock to the head and face throughout his boxing career.
Having been warned one-punch could kill him, he ignored all advice but was still left shook to the core to see his son Junior standing before him.
As George faced junior, he looked like a ghost as he beckoned: “Junior?”
Looking straight at his dad, Junior uttered: “Ello dad!”
However, the moment left fans wishing they hadn’t bothered watching as they were instantly left cringing at the on-screen display.
Some even insisted they should axe the story before it began as they insisted it was becoming “repetitive”.
Shocked by the “weak” nature of the episode, one fan said: “Oh that ending was so cringeworthy. The episode had its moments but it was definitely one of the weaker ones we’ve had in a while.”
A second went on to say: “The ending was cringe tbh.”
Whilst a third slammed the story, writing: “I’ll be glad when the underground boxing stuff is over. It’s getting a tad repetitive and I do want to see all the women in George’s orbit doing something different.”
It was confirmed recently that former Emmerdale actor Micah Balfour has joined EastEnders as Junior Knight.
Micah previously played PC Benjamin Gayle in The Bill and Jermaine Bailey in Emmerdale.
Speaking about joining Albert Square, Micah said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the cast of EastEnders as part of the Knight family.
“I grew up watching the show and many of the characters have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, so walking onto the Square for the first time was the most surreal experience of my career!
“It’s a privilege to work with Colin Salmon, who I’ve watched with admiration for many years, and Francesca Henry and Molly Rainford, who are dynamite on screen, as well as the amazing Harriet Thorpe and Kellie Bright.
“Junior is an exciting character to play as he’s a complex man, and he’s going to cause a bit of a stir!”
