They have to be saved by the absolutely terrifying bogeyman, and it seems that viewers were freaked out.
Extensive CGI was used to make it look as though the mouths of the babies were moving.
Viewers took to X – formerly known as Twitter – in their droves as they noted how terrified they were.
One viewer wrote: “The space babies’ mouths are completely unnerving #DoctorWho”
“My 4yo took one look at the space babies and said, ‘this is scary’,” remarked another.
As a third exclaimed: “I’m sorry but this space babies episode of doctor who is awful I can’t cope, cgi talking babies? No thank you, I cannot stand cgi making babies speak it’s creepy and disturbing.”
Whilst a fourth said: “Space Babies was a bit… the cgi on the babies so they can acc speak freaked me out in a way I can’t explain???”
And a fifth added: “Space Babies was good overall though there were a few bits that made me cringe. Those CGI baby mouths will haunt my dreams.”
However, reaction does seem to be mixed as some viewers praised the show for an exciting cameo by two stars of Strictly Come Dancing.
In the second episode of, the main characters met The Beatles, but as usual nothing was simple.
However the pair soon discovered that the all-powerful ‘Maestro’ is changing history.
The UK capitol city then became a battleground as the very future of humanity hung in the balance.
Towards the end of the episode, viewers were treated to an elaborate dance number.
However, they were surprised to see Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas, 63, pop up on-screen.
Instead of sitting behind her usual desk, fans could see her in action as she performed the jive alongside professional dancer Johannes Radebe, 37.
The duo danced along to the upbeat 60’s track with the Fifteenth Doctor and his new companion.
Fans of the BBC show once again took to social media in their droves as they reacted to the exciting twist.
One fan exclaimed: ” Ep 2 #DrWho what fab! Maestro was a great villlian AND Shirley and Johannes from #Strictly was an awesome suprise!”
A second viewer penned: “SHIRLEY BALLAS AND JOHANNES IN THE NEW DR WHO HELLO????”

She asked: “Did you spot us ? .”
More fans then couldn’t help but lavish praise on the dancing pair for their dancing skills.
One of her followers gushed: “To be fair, I recognised Johannes first, well, his body rather than his face, then realised it was the two of you. Such fun.”
“Yes you were both brilliant!! Did you both come up with all the choreography? ,” replied a second.
