THE first trailer for Danny Dyer’s comedy debut in Mr Bigstuff has landed and promises plenty of laughs.
The former EastEnders actor has joined forces with Brassic star Ryan Sampson, for the new Sky comedy.
Ryan – who plays Tommo in Brassic – has written and created the series about two estranged brothers, Glen and Lee.
Ryan plays Glen, a nervy perfectionist and carpet salesman, while Danny, 46, plays Lee – an alpha male with a prescription drug addiction.
Glen and his fiancee Kirsty are striving for the suburban ideal and despite his erectile dysfunction and her secret shoplifting habit, they like a happy, mundane life together.
However, that is all turned upside down when Lee crashes into their lives whilst on the run from a past that is quickly catching up with him.
Unsurprisingly, it’s not long before their ‘perfect’ lives start to unravel faster than the weave of a cheap carpet.
In the trailer, Danny is seen as Lee arriving at Glen’s place of work and attacking his boss while his brother hides.
He’s then seen walking down the middle of the street in his pants, a vest and a colourful ladies silk dressing gown.
He then encourages his brother to fight him, saying: “We’re going to fight, man to man, because that’s what you need.”
The pair roll around in the grass before Lee slaps Glen across the face.
Glen then starts to learn what’s going on with his brother as Lee admits: “It’s bad Glen, it’s really bad.”
The action then ramps up with car tyres squealing and a man pouncing off a sunbed to attack them.
The cast includes Harriet Webb as Kirsty, alongside Adrian Scarborough, Fatiha El Ghorri, Ned Dennehy, Victoria Alcock, Geoff Bell, Nitin Ganatra, Judi Love and more.
The trailer comes days after Danny was seen on the set of his new Christmas movie with The Big Bang Theory’s Kunal Nayyar.
Christmas Karma is a modern Bollywood musical based on Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol, with Kunal playing Scrooge.
Mr Bigstuff will air on Sky and NOW from July.
