JESSIE J is set to make a major comeback just months after claiming she was “unemployed” at 35.
Singer Jessie, 35, had been signed to industry titan, Republic Records, for 17 years – but last year decided to give up her deal.
The Price Tag songstress has now announced that she will be returning to the stage for a string of festivals and gigs this summer.
Jessie posted a promo poster on Saturday with tour dates kicking off in May and ending in August.
She will be travelling to Las Angeles and Sao Paulo in Brazil and also appearing closer to home at the Isle of Wight Festival.
Many fans raced to share their excitement ahead of Jessie’s long-awaited comeback, with one writing: “I can’t wait to see you Jessie.”
A second posted: “Brazil is waiting for you.”
Time out
In September, Jessie told fans she’s ‘unemployed’ after quitting her pop job and becoming a mother.
At the time she thanked company bosses while vowing to continue releasing music.
The hitmaker said: “My lawyer said that I need to make a statement about the decision that I have made.
“I don’t want it to feel like a huge, big thing. After 17 years I have decided to leave Republic Records. I was about six months pregnant when I made this decision.
“Monte and Avery Lipman, and Jason Flomm have been so gracious and kind in supporting my decision and letting me go.
“It’s been the most amazing high and low ride of my life. I just feel so grateful to have been signed to the best record label in the world.
“I have to just be honest with who I am and what I want from my career now.
“There’s no negative spin it’s not dramatic. I just didn’t feel right being signed and it hasn’t for years. So, I need to stop just trusting my instincts and ask for them… so now I am unemployed.
“I am now in the process of doing all the legalities and sorting out the music so I can put out new music and do it my way. On my time and my terms. Now I have had a baby there is just no stopping me.
“Something happens when you have a baby and just start giving zero f**ks. But there is nothing but good vibes.”
The BRIT Award winner bagged nine UK top ten singles in the early 2010s, but her latest ten releases haven’t charted. She was also a judge on the BBC talent series The Voice with Tom Jones and Will.i.am.
Last year Jessie gave birth to her first child, a son named Sky, whom she shares with basketball player Chanan Safir Colman.
