LORD Alan Sugar failed to turn up to his 2023 winner Marnie Swindell’s gym launch – but sent a kind email instead.

The business mogul, 77, was abroad for the star-studded bash celebrating Bronx Boxing Gym’s expansion.

However, Lord Sugar sent his best wishes after the venue was burgled a week before its opening date.

Thieves stole £3,000 worth of equipment – leaving 29-year-old Marnie devastated.

But a message from her business partner, Lord Sugar, lifted her spirits just in time for her to show off the premises in London’s Camberwell to her famous friends with a red carpet party held in association with Press Box PR and Prime Time Lager – founded by Made In Chelsea stars Harvey Armstrong and Sam Holmes

Marnie told The Sun: “A week before the launch date we were broken into, and £3000 worth of equipment was stolen – the feeling I got in the pit of my stomach was awful.

“This last month has been one of the most challenging periods of my life, and I just kept thinking, how am I going to do this?

“But you just keep going, and Lord Sugar sent me a lovely email expressing his excitement for the launch and wishing me the best of luck, in spite of the challenges.

“I know he is so invested in the gym and looks forward to visiting when he returns from overseas.

“I was gutted when I realised the robbery had happened, getting that message from him was the reassurance I needed.”

Despite missing out on the celebration, Lord Sugar sent messages on X about the launch.

“Well done @MarnieSwindells and good luck to @Bronxboxingldn in the next phase of our business partnership,” Lord Sugar wrote.

He added: “Last year’s #TheApprentice winner @MarnieSwindells launched our new expanded BRONX boxing gym last night in SE London @Bronxboxingldn. The place was buzzing.”

Last night Marnie unveiled the major overhaul after a year-long refurbishment of Bronx Boxing Gym in London’s Camberwell.

A whole host of The Apprentice stars were in attendance including 2024 champ Rachel Woolford, Reece Donnelly, Stephanie Affleck, Flo Edwards, Tre Lowe, Brad Johnson, Mark Moseley, Virdi Mazaria and Phil Turner.

Also in attendance were Married At First Sight UK stars Amy Christophers and Peggy Rose.
