EASTENDERS fans have been left open-mouthed after a BBC announcer made a swipe at the end of an episode.
Thursday’s episode saw Zack Hudson finally find out that partner Whitney had paid troubled teen Britney’s mum to bring her back to Walford to live with them.

Crushed, Zack left the house and ran into Whitney’s best friend Lauren Branning.
The pair went to get some chips as they discussed their disastrous love lives, before Lauren suggested a night out in Hoxton.
But moments later, the pair were seen in an alleyway snogging, while their abandoned chips sat in the foreground.
As the EastEnders ‘doof doof’ played and the credits rolled, the BBC announcer came on to tell viewers what was coming up next.
But they got a surprise when the announcer said: “Ah I can’t believe that, what a waste of chips!”
EastEnders viewers were highly amused by the comment, with one writing on X: “The guy at the end of the episode saying about the chips, I said the same thing to my dad @bbceastenders #EastEnders” alongside crying with laughter emojis.
Another added: “All I’ll say about tonight’s #EastEnders is…. What a waste of chips”.
A third tweeted: “Tonight’s doof doof is a box of chips omg #EastEnders.”
Earlier, Whitney had tried to tell Zack how it all came about regarding Britney, but she refused to accept that she’d done anything wrong.
Even when Zack pointed out that she’d spent the money for their baby on buying Britney, she was unrepentant and tried to turn it around on him.
EastEnders viewers have been left angered by Whitney’s behaviour during the storyline.
Taking to X – formerly Twitter – one wrote: “Is #EastEnders actively trying to make us hate Whitney so we didn’t mind as much when she’s written off the show?”
A second added: “Can’t wait to see the back of whitney . Never thought I’d say that #eastenders.”
