The usual judges will be returning for season nine

This will be the ninth season of the beloved cooking series.

Comedian Ellie Taylor will present the show again, after replacing Stacey Solomon who departed after just one series.

Former Bake Off star Liam Charles will join her in hosting duties.

He is also known for being one of the judges on Junior Bake Off.

The new cast for 2024, who are yet to be revealed, will be up against two days of challenges to prove themselves as the best bakers in the UK.

Their delicacies will be judges by world-class pâtissier experts, Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden.

Recently the Sun revealed that GBBO bosses are considering axing the show’s beloved chocolate week amidst a global shortage of cocoa.

Extreme weather conditions in West Africa led to shortages of the bean, and experts are now warning that the era of cheap chocolate is “over”.

An insider source shared their concerns, saying: “Producers are fairly confident they’ll be able to get their hands on enough cocoa and choccy products for the series.

“It’s more about tone and continuity. If there really is a dire lack of chocolate by the time this series airs, it’ll seem a bit out-of-sorts to be displaying gooey, chocolatey wares.

“Bosses know that fans like to try and recreate recipes after they have aired too, which could be a problem if the shortage remains.”
