BBC News viewers were taken aback last night after Maryam Moshiri imitated a bird call during her news report.
The presenter joked that she would be fired for the move.
Maryam was midway through a news segment when she got inspired by the story of a young boy who had been on BBC Breakfast earlier that day showing off his seagull impersonation.
She said: “I can feel that you really want me to do an impression of a seagull, so I’m going to give it a go.”
The anchor then proceeded to squawk like a bird – and let’s just say her attempt did not live up to nine-year-old Cooper’s.
“Is that okay?” she giggled. “I’m hearing in my ear that I’ve been sacked. Oh well. C’est la vie, as they say.”
She then moved on to giving an update about Trump’s hush money trial which is taking place in New York.
Viewers were bemused by her antics, with one confused person exclaiming: “What the heck was the context?!”
Others flocked to praise her for bringing some entertainment to the news cycle.
Someone shared: “Honestly love this woman.”
Another gushed: “Holy s**t, STOP BEING SO ICONIC!!”
A third chimed in: “In my head, my TV license this year went to this and only this, and I’m very happy for it.”
The presenter is well known for accidentally giving viewers the middle finger in a mortifying blunder last December.
