STARS from a string of hit shows will unite in brand new crime drama Mudtown.
The upcoming series has signed up an all-star cast including The Crown and Gotham star Erin Richards in the lead role of Claire.
Erin Richards will be taking on the role of Claire[/caption] Tom Cullen joins the cast as Saint Pete[/caption]UKTV has commissioned the series for Alibi to air next year.
Joining Erin is Tom Cullen, who has starred in The Gold and Becoming Elizabeth.
Matthew Gravelle, who played Broadchurch villain Joe Miller, has also been announced for the show.
Mudtown’s cast also includes Lauren Morais, Lloyd Meredith, Kimberly Nixon, Sion Pritchard and Ifan Huw Daffyd.
Set in Wales, Mudtown takes place at Newport’s Magistrates Court.
The show follows Claire Lewis Jones, an experienced magistrate who faces personal turmoil while presiding over cases at Newport Magistrates Court.
However, Claire’s loyalty to her community is put to the test when Ned, a childhood friend of Claire’s daughter Beca, faces arson charges.
Broadchurch actor Matthew Gravelle is part of the impressive line-up[/caption]Further drama unfolds when local criminal kingpin Saint Pete, with whom Claire goes back a long way, appears on the scene.
After delving deeper into the case, Claire uncovers a web of criminal activity which could put her and her family at risk.
The screenplay is penned by actress Hannah Daniel, who has appeared in Holby City and Georgia Lee, who also sits on the bench as a Magistrate.
