ITV has confirmed its beloved award-winning game show is returning to screens – but it’s got serious competition.

The broadcaster has announced exactly when the new series of Beat the Chasers will kick off.

However, The Finish Line with Roman Kemp will return on the exact same day in a schedule clash[/caption]

The show, which is a spin-off to The Chase, is also presented by Bradley Walsh.

It sees celebrity contestants and the beloved Chasers go head-to-head.

However, unlike The Chase, the contestants must face all five chasers at once.

The new series will kick off on Monday, May 6 at 9pm on ITV1 and will air nightly across the week.

But Bradley and his team face stiff competition as the BBC will launch the new series of The Finish Line on the same day at 4:30pm.

Presented by Roman Kemp, it sees contestants compete in quiz-fuelled races across a unique racetrack set.

Knowledge equals speed so the more you know, the further you go.

The first series aired late last year on BBC One, which directly rivalled Tipping Point on ITV1.

The show is produced by Potato, which is the same production company behind The Chase, Sitting on a Fortune and Moneyball.

BBC bosses previously green lit the show’s second series, which has been given an extended run.

30 episodes have been ordered for BBC One’s daytime schedule
