A SCOTS pharmacist told how some creepy messages on social media led to her getting a starring role on Geordie Shore.

Roxy Hamedi, 29, had recently split from her boyfriend as well as working long hours in her stressful job.

And then she got a random message asking: “Are you single and do you want to party?”

Despite thinking it was a scammer or an oddball she replied and less than a month later she was on the latest series of the realityshow.

Roxy, originally from Aberdeen, said: “I got approached on Instagram. There is no application process for Geordie Shore.

“A casting agent slid into my DMs. I thought it was a fake message or a scammer. But I kind of entertained it for a bit.

“He was asking about my dating histories and any stories I wanted to share. Then I had a few video calls.”

Roxy still had no clue what was going on and had no idea if the guy who was messaging her was really in TV.

And then she was invited to meet the production team at MTV Studios in London.

She said: “It felt so surreal and exciting at the same time.

“I was in shock that this whole process was legit. I still didn’t know it was for Geordie Shore.

“I assumed it was some sort of dating show for partying and having fun. That’s what I wanted to do.

“I thought it would be a break from my normal job which is super stressful.”

Roxy was quizzed by producers and admitted that she’d not watched the hit reality show for some time.

They wanted to know why she was keen to take part and what Geordie she thought she would be a perfect match for.

Roxy had a strict upbringing in Aberdeen with her Iranian parents, who moved to the UK more than 40 years ago.

She wasn’t sure if they would approve of her going on reality TV. But decided to go for a chance at telly stardom.

Roxy said: “I was like ‘why not’. I’ve got this opportunity.

“I was in London and I was single and I was still young. Life is too short to let anything go past that is this big.

“It’s a different challenge and will push me out of my comfort zone. It will make me a better person and help my character development.

“I think it gets like that when you reach your mid 20s. You got through this phase of ‘let’s try something new’.”

Before she knew it Roxy was in a £500 taxi from London to Newcastle to appear on Geordie Shore and was sworn to secrecy.

She found love on the show with star James Tindall but that fell apart almost as soon as the cameras stopped rolling.

Roxy admitted she felt “lost and confused” after her bid at telly stardom didn’t work out the way she’d planned.

But she’s since launched her own range of cosmetics, A Selfish Soul, and reckons this is her ticket to the big time.
