Ant and Dec said they felt ‘weird’ ahead of the final show[/caption]Ant and Dec will shelve ITV’s prime-time entertainment show after 20 series with tonight’s two-hour live extravaganza.
They have vowed to throw “the party to end all parties” to polish off the last ever episode – but appeared in sour spirits in the run-up.
Ant said: “So rehearsals are underway for the last Saturday Night Takeaway.”
He asked Dec: “You alright there?”
“I’m OK. Getting through it,” sighed Dec as he looked visibly upset.
Ant added: “We’re OK. It’s very sad.”
Dec added: “It’s a weird day isn’t it.”
Ant agreed, saying: “It’s a really weird day. Really weird.”
Pulling themselves together, Ant continued: “But it’s going to be a great show. A two-hour extravaganza.
“Fun times, guys. 7 o’clock. See you later.”
Some 32 celebs will help the boys say goodbye on tonight’s show, including Simon Cowell, Girls Aloud, Amanda Holden and Rylan Clark.
And the lads are welcoming back former helpers Ashley Roberts and Kirsty Gallacher for the final decider of the Ant vs Dec challenges.
There will also be a mega singalong with Kaiser Chiefs, Tony Hadley and S Club.
Teasing tonight’s final episode on last week’s show, Dec said: “Next week is your last episode of your Saturday Night Takeaway.
“But the good news is it’s a live two-hour extravaganza, basically it’s going to be the mother of all parties.
“We’re taking over the whole of television centre.”
Ant then continued: “It’s going to be absolutely epic, we’ve got a super singalong live with Tony Hadley, we’ve got 7 Club, Kaiser Chiefs.”
