Who is Britain’s Got Talent star Sydnie Christmas and how old is the golden buzzer singer?

EVERY series of Britain’s Got Talent always has one contestant who really gets every one talking.

For the 2024 series that act is Gold Buzzer star Sydnie Christmas who has won an automatic place in the BGT semi-final.

Who is Sydnie Christmas?

Sydnie Christmas is a Kent stage performer, who also works front of house in a gym.

She is a professional singer who has performed on theatre and cruise ship stages.

Before Britain’s Got talentshe appeared in E4’s reality show Stage School.

The programme, which ran for two series in 2016 and 2017, followed the trials and tribulations of students at a real-life stage school from romances to auditions.

The Sun also revealed how Sydnie has a handsome Italian boyfriend.

Max Rizzo is from Sciliy and is signed to a management agency that finds rising stars.

Like Sydnie he is a talented singer and the couple have both performed in the musical The Starlight Express.

How old is Sydnie Christmas?

Sydnie was born in 1996, and was 28 at the time of auditioning for Britain’s Got Talent.

If she wins the show, the talented star will get to perform at the Royal Variety Show in winter 2024.

This means she will get to sing for King Charles.

When did Sydnie Christmas perform on Britain’s Got Talent?

On April 20, 2024, Syndie wowed the audience and the BGT judges with her rendition of Tomorrow from Annie.

Amanda Holden was heard saying “it’s too early” as the crowd chanted Sydnie’s name.

The judge told Sydnie: “That was the best version of it that I’ve heard heard in my mind, so I’m going to do this…”

Amanda then hit the Golden Buzzer and sent Sydnie through to the semi-finals.

She got a standing ovation from all four judges as she was covered in gold confetti falling from above.

Overwhelmed Sydnie was in tears as she stared up at the roaring audience.

Her adoring grandmothers watching from the Palladium jumped up and down as they took in the news.

Sydnie was heard shouting “let’s have it”, which appears to be her chosen catchphrase.

She told the crowd: “Thanks so much. Thanks for screaming for me.”

Amanda then made her way to the stage to give Sydnie a big hug, before the hopeful returned to the loving arms of her family members.

Sydnie also has another celebrity fan, West End and Celebrity Big Brother star Marisha Wallace.

The singer watched her BGT performance with interest and said on Instagram afterwards: “It’s been 4 years since I released my version of Tomorrow and the album with Steve Anderson.

“The money we raised helped so many starving artists during the pandemic. This is from when I performed it at the Royal Variety performance in 2020.

“My version has been used on many tv shows to this day and I heard Sydnie Christmas sang my version on BGT and got a gold buzzer!

“So happy the song lives on. Have a listen to it on all music platforms link in my stories because it still gives me hope for a better tomorrow

Sydnie was ecstatic, commenting: “I cannot thank you enough for making this version. YOU are my idol.”

To which Marisha replied: “So proud of you sis! You did me proud.”

Britain's Got Talent has been thrilling fans since it burst onto the scene in 2007.

2009: Diversity– Dance troupe Diversity scooped the BGT crown and beat of competition from singer Susan Boyle, who was strongly tipped to win the show.

2010 – Spellbound: Gymnastic troupe Spellbound really impressed judge Simon Cowell with their stunning routines and incredible stunts in 2010. At the time, the music mogul said: “I can only say on live television that was one of the most astonishing things I have ever seen.”

2011 – Jai McDowall: Viewers were stunned when Jai McDowall won the show in 2011, as young singer Ronan Parke was the favourite to win the series.

2012 – Ashleigh and Pudsy: Ashleigh Butler and her adorable pooch Pudsey stole hearts when they performed in series six of the talent show.

2013 – Attraction: Hungarian shadow artist group Attraction won the seventh series of Britain’s Got Talent. The squad had taken part in the German version of BGT in 2012, however, they had only placed seventh.

2014 – Collabro: Classical music band Collabro faced tough competition in the 2014 final as all the finalist were singers, but they went on to scoop the crown.

2015 – Jules O’Dwyer & Matisse: Dog lovers everywhere could’t get enough of Jules O’Dwyer and pet pup Matisse. The impressive duo even performed on a tightrope to secure their win.

2016 – Richard Jones: Army man Richard Jones became the first magician in the show’s history to win Britain’s Got Talent.

2017 – Tokio Myers: Pianist Tokio Myers impressed the judges with his blend of classical and electronic music.

2018 – Lost Voice Guy: Stand-up comedian Lost Voice Guy, who performs with a speech synthesiser, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was six months old. However, he defied the odds and is a BGT champ.

2019 – Colin Thackery: Veteran army officer Colin Thackery warmed the nations hearts with his singing voice. He was crowned winner of BGT after singing Michael Ball’s Love Changes Everything.

2020 – Jon Courtenay: Singer and pianist Jon Courtenay was Ant and Dec’s Golden Buzzer act. After he won the £250,000 prize he said: “”Just amazing, I can’t believe it.”

2022 – Axel Blake: Comedian Axel Blake scooped the crown after the show was off air for two years during Covid.

2023 – Viggo Venn: The reigning BGT champ is comedian Viggo Venn.
