Meanwhile, the star-studded line-up also features Academy Award winners Laura Dern and Alison Janney, as well as legendary comedian Carol Burnett.
Apple TV+ has confirmed Palm Royale’s renewal for a second season.
The follows an outsider, Maxine Dellacorte-Simmons (played by Kristen Wiig), who attempts to find a place among the high society of Palm Beach, Florida.
She tries to do this through the town’s most exclusive country club, the Palm Royale.
However, in the process, she learns what will and won’t do in her efforts to achieve this goal.
Kristen Wiig is perhaps best known for featuring in long-running sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2005 to 2012.
She starred and co-wrote 2011 comedy film Bridesmaids, earning her nominations for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
The star has also appeared in Knocked Up, the Despicable Me franchise, Wonder Woman 1984 and Paul – the latter starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.
As for Palm Royale, Abe Sylvia created the show while it was based on the 2018 novel Mr and Mrs American Pie by Juliet McDaniel.
In addition to her starring role, Jurassic Park actress Laura Dern also serves as an executive producer for Palm Royale.
Her father, Bruce Dern, an Academy Award, Bafta and Golden Globe nominee, has also had a role in the show.
Addressing the renewal, Laura said: “We’re thrilled to hear about season two.
