EMMERDALE has revealed Rhona Goskirk’s fate after she appeared in court charged with kidnapping baby Ivy.
The vet – who is played by actress Zoe Henry in the ITV soap – found herself facing years in prison for her crime after losing her temper in court before the jury was sent out.
But Rhona was quickly summoned back to court by the judge with the jury having something to say.
It was revealed that they had no prospect of being unanimous and so the judge allowed them to come to a verdict with a majority of ten.
They were sent back for deliberations while Rhona, Marlon and Mary waited outside.
Once again Rhona and Gus were at each other’s throats about everything that had happened.
But as Rhona raged at Gus, pointing out that he would be likely going to prison and asking what he would do when social services took Ivy, there was an announcement calling them back into court.
The jury spokeswoman was asked: “In relation to count one of kidnapping, have you come to a verdict of which are at least ten of you are agreed?”
She said they had and so was asked: “Guilty or not guilty?”
“Not guilty,” said the forewoman as Rhona couldn’t believe it.
Tears streaming down her face, Rhona couldn’t form words but outside she found Gus where they once again clashed.
Gus told Rhona he just wanted to get home to his daughter so Rhona replied: “Chances are she’ll be my child soon too.
“Once I’ve fought for custody which I am now free to do. Then you’ll be forced to put Ivy first.
“Have you heard yourself? How arrogant, childish and cruel you sound? What has happened to you?”
She added: “I don’t think Lucy would recognise you now. You were prepared to drag both of us through the mud to save your own skin.
