ONE former Coronation Street star has revealed his suprising new career.
The former soap star teamed up with another former showbiz name to launch his new venture which is worlds away from the cobbles.
The pair now run run a small boutique hotel and micro-bakery together in Devon[/caption]Jimi Mistry, 51, was known for playing the role of Kal Nazir in the long-running serial drama.
He first joined the soap in December 2013 playing the fitness coach and former soldier.
This was before he departed the show a year and a half later in May 2015 as his character was killed off.
The actor also starred in the popular BBC One drama, The Syndicate, created by acclaimed Kay Mellor.
Before this projects, he was known for his role as Dr. Fred Fonseca in EastEnders for a number of years between 1998 and 2000.
But away from drama, he’s happily married to former Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Flavia Cacace, 43.
They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in 2013 and it since seems that he has retired away from the spotlight.
Now, the former showbiz pair now run their own boutique business named ‘Our Life At The Barn’.
Together, they rent out a selection of luxury holiday cottages on their farm in the South Hams hamlet of Devon.
As part of the facilities, the pair have hired a pet professional named Julia who provides a dog walking and dog minding service.
The hotel also offers a special ‘dance break’ product, where guests can pay extra to receive a special lesson from Flavia.
But the former actor has launched a new side hustle alongside the main hotel business.
With his wife, he now co-runs a micro bakery named ‘Barn Bakes’ at the exclusive dwelling.
According to the website, they produce a selection of ‘artisan handmade breads, pastries & cakes’.
Options include different types of bread loafs, lemon drizzle cake, banana bread, croissants and even pain au chocolate.
They revealed the launch of their new food venture in a behind-the-scenes snap on the B&B’s social media page.
The pair both beamed as Jimmy worked hard in their kitchen as he donned a branded apron.
