ITV has cancelled Friday’s episode in favour of a football fixture, Germany vs Scotland in UEFA Euro 2024.
The coverage is scheduled to air from 6.30pm to 10.45pm on ITV1, with kickoff taking place at 8pm.
Meanwhile, Coronation Street viewers recently learned of solicitor Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) involvement in the fate of Lauren Bolton.
A flashback revealed Joel had brutally attacked missing teenager Lauren in her flat.
Lauren vanished in February while the police suspected her former employer Roy Cropper (David Neilson) of being involved.
Roy’s family and friends remained convinced of his innocence.
The beloved cafe owner was arrested and charged with Lauren’s alleged murder, but has since been released from custody.
Vile groomer Nathan Curtis, who was himself recently released from prison, has now been put in the frame for what has happened to Lauren.
Back in 2017, Nathan was locked up for grooming and manipulating a vulnerable, teenage Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).
He tricked Bethany into thinking they were in a loving relationship, while selling her around to his friends and associates.
Viewers know that Bethany’s mum Sarah (Tina O’Brien) and detective Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) have a part to play in suspicion falling on Nathan.
Kit, the previously long-lost son of Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) caught Sarah about to plant evidence in Nathan’s van.
A flashback scene revealed Kit had pulled out a hair from the bag he’d taken from Sarah and planted it himself.
Upon the hair being discovered, along with other evidence stacking up, Nathan was charged with Lauren’s murder.
