The latest version, a spectacular and eye-popping animation, updates the legend in a spectacular, funny and endearing fashion.

When Tokyo is attacked by ferocious, massive monsters—or kaiju—baseball star Ken Sato reluctantly agrees to become Ultraman, a giant masked superhero big and strong enough to take on even the most terrifying adversaries.

Mysteries Of The Terracotta Warriors

DOCUMENTARY available from Wednesday

Mysteries of the Terracotta Warriors is dropping very soon[/caption]

It remains one of the most spectacular and important archaeological discoveries of all time. In 1974, in China’s Shaanxi Province, archaeologists uncovered a remarkable army of 8,000 terracotta soldiers, hand-crafted more than 2,000 years ago to guard the mausoleum of China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang.

It was a discovery that delighted and astounded in equal measure.

Now, 50 years later, this documentary not only tells the story of that excavation—shining a light on the countless other artefacts that were found alongside the warriors—but it also explores Qin’s history and the importance of his incredible, treasure-filled tomb.

King Of Collectibles: The Goldin Touch

REALITY available from Wednesday

Collector Ken Goldin has made millions from buying and selling rare and valuable sports memorabilia.

So, the first season of this show, following Ken and the team at his New Jersey auction house, made for intriguing viewing—both for fans of sports and collecting of all kinds.

Now he’s back for a second series, promising more rare finds and exciting memorabilia—including a dress worn by Kate Winslet in Titanic and a copy of DC’s Action Comic #1, which featured Superman’s first appearance.

There’s the usual sporting treasures too, linked to some American icons past and present.

APPLE TV+

Presumed Innocent

DRAMA available from Friday

ApplTv+
Presumed Innocent is landing on ApplTv+ next week Friday[/caption]

Turning much-loved movies into TV series can be a risky business, as last year’s eight-part reboot of the classic thriller Fatal Attraction found out with some mixed reviews.

That hasn’t stopped Jake Gyllenhaal from producing and starring in this eight-part adaptation of Scott Turow’s bestselling novel Presumed Innocent, which was also turned into a blockbusting movie starring Harrison Ford back in 1990.

And if the tense and intriguing first episode is anything to go by, it was a good call. Jake plays Rusty Sabich, Chicago’s chief deputy prosecutor, who’s given the job of investigating the murder of Carolyn (Renate Reinsve), a member of his own department.

However, when some shocking evidence emerges, Jake finds himself fighting an unexpected battle to prove his own innocence.

Featuring some truly unpleasant adversaries – Peter Sarsgaard is particularly appalling as Rusty’s jealous colleague Tommy – plus the brilliant Ruth Negga as Rusty’s wife, it grabs you from the off.

PRIME VIDEO

The Boys

DRAMA available from Thursday

Prime
The jaw-dropping series The Boys is hitting TV screens very soon[/caption]

Crammed with violence, jaw-dropping gross-out moments and some of the most unlikeable characters on TV, this viciously funny superhero drama isn’t for everyone, that’s for sure.

But anyone who does love it – and there are a lot of people who do – will have been counting down the days until the new fourth series, which explodes onto our screens this week.

As we rejoin the action, appalling Supe Homelander (Antony Starr) is cementing his power, especially with Victoria Neuman getting closer to the Oval Office.

Meanwhile, Butcher (Karl Urban) only has months to live, having taken too much V24, the drug that temporarily gives someone superpowers.

The eight-episode season kicks off with a full-throttle triple bill, with the remaining five episodes landing weekly after that.

DISNEY+

Criminal Minds: Evolution

DRAMA Available from Friday

Paramount
Criminal Minds: Evolution sees FBI’s elite team of profilers back again, cracking the hardest of investigations[/caption]

The recently revived—and well-received—continuation of this US drama is back with more twisted crime capers.

The FBI’s elite team of profilers, the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), are still led by FBI Supervisory Special Agent David Rossi (Joe Mantegna).

And while the BAU are kept busy solving cases of the week, this time, they also need to negotiate with serial killer Elias Voit (Zach Gilford) in order to crack a deadly conspiracy.

Yet the cost of working with the monster known as ‘Sicarius’ may prove to be too high.

It’s quality US police procedural fare with a very dark tone.

Under The Bridge

DRAMA available from Wednesday

Disney
Acclaimed author Rebecca Godfreys book has been created into a TV adaptation[/caption]

Based on an award-winning book by late author Rebecca Godfrey, this compelling and shocking true-crime drama promises to be riveting.

In 1997, 14-year-old Reena Virk (Vritika Gupta) went to join friends at a party and never returned home. When the grim truth of her fate eventually emerged, the case shocked Canada and prompted national soul-searching.

Under The Bridge> delves into the world of teenage girls and is told through the eyes of Godfrey (Riley Keough) and a local police officer (Lily Gladstone).

Along the way, he’s supported by his beloved Aunt May and helped by the likes of fellow superheroes Black Panther, Iron Man, Wasp and Hulk. The fun begins with Spidey taking on Zola and the Hydrabots, who are intent on spoiling the children’s art show.

PARAMOUNT+

How Music Got Free

DOCUMENTARY available from Wednesday

Paramount
How Music Got Free is landing on Paramount+ very soon[/caption]

Some people are old enough to remember when the only way to own music was to physically go into a shop and buy it – RIP, Woolworths. As a result, major music artists could earn fortunes from record sales alone.

The late 90s and early Noughties changed everything, however, with file-sharing technology making the landscape completely unrecognisable from what went before.

How Music Got Free is the fascinating inside story of that technology-driven disruption when millions of young people were given the tools to participate in artistic theft.
