He joked that his son was accident prone like him, and wrote over the photo on Instagram: “It would seem we have created my exact replica in Rexy.

“Another head injury to leave another scar.

“He’s got a few more to go to match me but he’s doing his best to catch.”

In January Greg said Rex “lost a tonne of blood” after his son had hurt himself.

Sharing a snap of the young boy’s bloody cut, the retired athlete penned: “Young Rexy took on the door frame and lost… a ton of blood and some tears later we’re in A&E hoping his new head mouth can be closed soon.”

He later posted a picture of the pair together with the caption: “One minute I’m stressing about a silly ice dance, the next mopping up blood and taking young Rexy to hospital.

“Perspective is key. PS he was SO brave.

“The wonderful staff and Milton Keynes hospital glued his head back and we were on our way, Rexy hardly flinched. Love the NHS.”

Greg also shares Milo, nine, and Daphne, two, with his wife Susie Verill.

Earlier this tear the star showed off his scar and swelling for the first time following emergency surgery after he slashed open his stomach open in Dancing on Ice rehearsals.
