Ambulance, which airs on BBC One, gives viewers a look into the happenings of the frontline workers as they deal with a slew of emergency situatuons.

The show gives unprecedented access into the workers and the though circumstances they find themselves in.

Viewers see the paramedics, the ambulance drivers and also those in the control centre on the phones as they work in unison to provide their expert critical care.

Over the next year, fans will get another look into the life of the crews as they help look after the nation with two more series expected to air.

The latest series aired earlier this year which showcased the crews across Greater Manchester in a series of life or death situations.

It was one of the most eye-opening series to date with the NHS under a strain and pressure like never before.

The ambulance service had to cope with some of the darkest times yet with it all laid bare on the warts-and-all documentary.

Earlier this year, an episode of the BBC show saw crew members Jodie and Tom called out to a fast food restaurant where a woman had gone into labour.

The lady had no idea she was pregnant, adding further drama to proceedings, and the crew requested back up.

Thankfully, the baby was born safe and healthily before mother and newborn were transferred to the hospital for follow up care in separate ambulances.

Viewers were blown away by the scenes they saw and what the crews have to go through.

Taking to social media, one wrote: “So powerful a show on BBC One. Our ambulance team must get more appreciation for the great work they do, day after day, night after night.”

Another added: “The ambulance drivers, the teachers, the nurses, the support staff in schools- those on the ground. We’re the ones who can’t sleep at night doubting if we could have done ‘more’. I highly doubt our government is tossing and turning like us! Or wiping silent tears.”

A third commented: “Gosh, the poor lost souls of Manchester are making me cry (again) #Ambulance.”
