BRITAIN’S Got Talent runner-up Jack Rhodes has hit back amid claims that judge Amanda Holden HELPED him with his incredible magic trick.
Magician Jack, 27, JUST missed out on winning the seventeenth series of the ITV talent show on Sunday night.
BGT finalist Jack Rhodes has confirmed that the judges had “no idea” about his act after claims Amanda helped him[/caption]Jack impressed the judges and the British public with his act over the weekend, but it was Sydnie Christmas who bagged the top spot.
Since his performance, fans have been left convinced that he wasn’t working alone – and Amanda helped him with his final act.
The star has put all those rumours to bed during an exclusive chat with The Sun – revealing that Amanda, Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli had “no idea what was coming”.
Jack told us: “So the judges genuinely have no idea what’s coming.
“So the whole thing with the hat, none of them knew that was coming.
“So that was a genuine reaction when I turned to Simon and said, you know, let’s put this hat on your head.
“And the whole thing with Amanda’s ring, I saw that, but before I went to Amanda, I was looking at Simon’s hands.
“I was trying to find if Simon had a ring. So I was looking down. He wasn’t wearing one, so I looked to Amanda next.”
He continued: “And so she looked down at her hands and went, can I borrow one of your rings?
“So yeah, like, oh, that’s genuine. They have no idea what’s to come. And I quite like that because it was the same with the semi-final.
“It was the same with the audition because I saw a lot of that with the audition. Like the way that played out was I kind of, Simon said, oh, this is great, but it needs a big finish. And then I turned around and made the Scuba man disappear.
“And that was like, there was no set up there, but it almost looked like it, because it went that well, it looked like he was lined up to say that. But it wasn’t.
“A lot of this is on the moment, and that’s why I’m so happy with how it went, because it’s like, yeah, none of this is set up.
“And I mean, I wish it was. I wish it was set up so I knew that Simon would be happy for me to put the hat on his head, to be honest.
“But yeah, no, none of it was set up.”
During his final performance, Jack asked judge Amanda to take off one of her rings and put it in a jar, which was in Bruno‘s hand the whole time.
He then performed a comedy routine with a lie detector, giving the lie detector hat to Simon, before making the ring disappear and reappear in the lightbulb at the top of hat.
The final three acts on Sunday night were Sydnie, Jack and Abigail & Afronitaaa.
Singer Sydnie was crowned winner after her performance of Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Annie.
Fans later fumed that Jack was “robbed” during the final after a “predictable” result.
