EMMERDALE fans have insisted the wrong family member has been killed off following the sudden passing of Ethan Anderson.
ITV viewers were left stunned when the character abruptly died without any prior warning as part of a spoiler-free episode last week.
Fans think Claudette should be axed from Emmerdale[/caption] They raged that her character serves no purpose[/caption]Ethan had been facing criminal charges for crashing a car and leaving Nicky Milligan on the brink of death before abandoning the scene of the crash.
Nicky’s panic-stricken mother, Ruby, was left hellbent on seeking revenge and opted to mow down Ethan in a bid for some pay back.
Whilst he initially seemed fine, he later collapsed and died, thought to be a result of a head injury he suffered when Ruby ran him down.
However, fans have been left insisting that he was the wrong member of the Anderson clan to be shown the door at Emmerdale.
Instead, fans have been left wishing that it was ‘pointless‘ Claudette who met her maker on the soap.
Emmerdale viewers have been left fuming at the character in recent weeks and have told their thoughts on how she is helping the soap to become “unwatchable”.
Discussing the character online, one fan did not take too kindly to her as they wrote: “Claudette is awful, serves no purpose whatsoever.”
Another branded her an “odious oldie” as they discusses how she was undeserving of her place in the soap’s ‘oldies’ category once filled by veterans including Lisa, Zak and Sandy.
As someone else argued that there was little point in killing her grandson off when he had more of a character to develop than her, saying: “While I was never bothered about Ethan as a character, what is the point in killing him off?”
In tense scenes last week, Claudette struggled to hold her feelings in as she dealt with the passing of her grandson.
Her son, Charles, was left on the warpath and ended up in a fiery confrontation with his kid’s possible killers.
“One of you killed my boy,” Charles said as Caleb tried to insist no-one harmed him.
Ruby called a halt to Charles’ words and lied to him, saying: “I wanted Ethan to pay for what he did to Nicky.
“I’m not going to stand here and pretend otherwise. But I would not wish this on my worst enemy. I really am so sorry for your loss.”
