A source told The Sun: “Eamonn and Ruth are still in contact, they speak every day. Although they’ve separated, they’re still sharing their dog, Maggie, at the moment and of course they have their son, Jack.”
Ruth has been seen out still wearing her ring, and Eamonn was also spotted with his on during a TV appearance, indicating the pair may not be ready to take that step.
Insiders said the couple drifted apart recently – and Eamonn has moved out of their Surrey mansion.
Their last social media post was in July 2022, showing Eamonn supporting Ruth at a Feeling Fabulous event.
This week, Eamonn returned to work on GB News and was seen on air wearing his wedding ring.
Friends have now expressed concerns for the Irish star, noting his mood has changed as his marriage ends.
An insider told MailOnline: “Eamonn used to be the bolshy star of daytime television, he was a confident and noisy member of the team.
“But he was clearly struggling recently – his marriage disintegrating as well as being in so much pain from his fall a couple of years ago was making him increasingly grumpy.”
Ruth, 64, took the week off Loose Women following the announcement.
It comes after it was reported “Eamonn was left blindsided” by the split announcement crafted by Ruth’s team.
He was said to be “angry and baffled” when he learned the statement would be released.
It read: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”
Insiders said he found out the statement just before it was published.
The source continued: “Eamonn wanted no part of it, he couldn’t see any reason why you would release that statement.
“It was wholly written and signed off by Ruth and her team. In the end he had no power over it whatsoever.”
