AN ACCLAIMED Channel 4 documentary is set to make a return with a new series.
Popular internet personality and comedian Munya Chawawa serves as the host for the series.
Channel 4 have given a second documentary series to comedian Munya Chawawa[/caption] He achieved success with his critically acclaimed documentary ‘How To Survive A Dictator’[/caption] In the second installment he will look into North Korea under the leadership of Kim Jong Un[/caption]Munya, 31, is best known for his viral satire singing and rapping videos as well as his hilarious comedy characters such as posh rapper ‘Unknown P’ and chef Jonny Oliver.
Now, he’s embarked on another new venture in the form of the Channel 4 series, How To Survive A Dictator.
He first achieved success with the critically acclaimed documentary which looked into the country of Zimbabwe under the leadership of Robert Mugabe.
Now he will aim to find out the secrets behind North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un and how dangerous he really could be.
He has lead North Korea for 12 years and although Kim is seen as a controversial figure, he has seemingly enjoyed friendships with the likes of Donald Trump and Dennis Rodman.
Munya will embark on a journey that will take him through suburbian West London, into Switzerland and the South Korean capital of Seoul.
In the new series he tracks down an old school friend of Kim’s and he meets people that have been first hand witnesses to the effects of the regime.
In a new format, he will mix his serious interviews with history facts and even his signature style of sketches.
This is all in an attempt to bust some of the myths around the totalitarian nuclear armed state.
Speaking about the series, Munya jokingly thanked the dictator couldn’t help but gush over the exciting and ambitious new topic.
He said: “It’s been tricky to not feel a sense of ‘apocalypse anxiety’ recently – is the world going to end?
“Are nukes going to be launched? Will we make it to the release of GTA 6?!”
He added: “A lot of that stems from North Korea and Kim Jong Un, so doing this doc has not only been fascinating, but also given me a strange sense of closure, cheers Kim!”
