MATTY Barton finds himself in a life changing altercation which leads to Samson Dingle’s exit from the soap.
Actor Sam Hall, 20, has portrayed Samson Dingle in Emmerdale since November 2009, when he was just five years old.

In October 2022, Samson became a father at the age of sixteen after Amelia Spencer gave birth to his daughter Esther following a one-night stand earlier in the year.
Last month, it was revealed that Sam was leaving the soap.
A TV source said: “Sam had a meeting with bosses earlier this month where they broke the news.
“He has been left devastated. He’s grown up with his on-screen Dingle clan and they are all very protective of him.
“Some of the cast even went to talk to bosses about their decision.
“As news of his axing swept through the building there were quite a lot of angry Dingles.
“The fact that they are planning on killing him off means there’ll be no way back for him either.
“He’s absolutely gutted.”
Emmerdale has teased that the cast over on the Dales are set to be “totally rocked” by three devastating storylines.
Sam has been told his character will be killed off in an explosive upcoming storyline.
Samson will be fatally stabbed and left bleeding out in next week’s scenes.
After a tense face off between Matty and Josh, Samson is caught in the middle and is accidentally stabbed.
Before their showdown, Lydia Dingle is worried about Samson’s plans to head around Europe by car with his new friend Josh.
She hopes he will fail his driving test and that the second-hand car Sam gives him won’t be up to the trip.
However, Samson is thrilled when Cain Dingle gives his motor the seal of approval, and rolls up without his ‘L’ plates, and Josh announces that Samson passed his test.
Samson is annoyed by Lydia’s insincere congratulations. As the pair celebrate afterwards, Josh shows interest in the newly-married Amy Wyatt.
Feeling dismissed by Sarah, he hits on Amy again. Struggling to cope with Josh’s incessant flirting, Amy leaves work early.
Matty shares some home truths with Josh. He tells Josh and Samson to leave the Hide, making Josh embarrassed.
Josh’s sense of humiliation grows, with him growing increasingly hostile towards Matty. After dead-naming and threatening Matty, he starts threatening him to give up the money in the Hide till.
The stand-off escalates until Josh shoves Samson into Matty.
And Matty inadvertently stabs Samson with the knife that he was holding.
With Samson bleeding out, Josh accuses Matty of coming at them with the knife.
Matty is horrified when Josh twists the narrative, making him look like the aggressor.
Matty fears he could be heading to jail next week, as he faces false allegations from a village newcomer.
What will the consequences be for Matty?
Can someone help Samson before it’s too late?
