IS Emmerdale legend Cain Dingle’s exit sealed as he decides to flee the village with his son Kyle Winchester?

Fans of the ITV soap have been left with worry that the fan-favourite could be departing the Dales.

It comes after the character, played by Jeff Hordley, has been in the centre of some major storylines, from Ethan’s hit and run in retribution for Nicky’s (Lewis Cope) injuries.

And his beef with Caleb (Will Ash) and by association, Ruby (Beth Cordingly).

He was even part of rapist Craig’s death last year.

But the only reason Cain would leave his home – is for his sons.

Kyle (Huey Quinn) has had a tough start in life and after accidentally killing Cain’s nemesis Al Chapman, he had to watch as his beloved dad took the fall and was sent to prison.

The truth eventually came out, but Cain lost custody of his 10-year-old son to Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) as the investigation went on, breaking the young lad’s heart.

When all was concluded, the two were finally reunited, only for Kyle to suffer at the hands of bullies who attacked him over what had happened to his family.

Since then, the Dingle family have overcome many more trials – including most recently losing Isaac’s beloved lamb Minty and forcing the village to mount a rescue mission.

However, Cain is distraught to learn that his fragile son is back suffering at the hands of bullies and make a life-changing decision.

He makes the decision to move his family away from the village for a better future.

Will his partner Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) go with him?

Viewers are struggling to see the soap without the integral characters.

Taking to X – formally known as Twitter – one said: “No! Cain can’t leave #emmerdale. Now Zak’s gone, he’s head of the family @HordleyJeff”.
