Just like last year, the long-running series is broadcasting live from RSPB Arne in Dorset.
Show favourite Iolo Williams is also back and in the first episode that aired on Monday, was in Corfe Castle with a live nest.
Meanwhile, Megan McCubbin was on the Isle of Bute hoping to catch a glimpse of osprey after landing a prominent hosting spot.
However, fans were left divided as they pointed out how Megan is Chris’ step-daughter.
In a swipe at show bosses, they accused the Beeb of ‘nepotism’.
One blasted: “Bit of nepotism going on on @Springwatch Chris Packham’s step daughter Megan McCubbin taking over the regular presenters.”
A second cruelly said: “Her voice grates, and she needs to take a breath occasionally.”
In Megan’s defence, another fan posted: “One thing that struck me watching Springwatch tonight is just what a talented presenter Megan McCubbin is. Intelligent, funny and natural, she is going to go very far.”
While a fourth fan commented: “Megan is such a natural at this. Can we keep her?”
Away from the TV cameras Megan is a zoologist and conservationist.
Megan shot to fame in 2017 when she presented Undercover Tourist: Inside the Illegal Bear Bile Market for BBC Three, and has since forged her career in TV.
The talented star made her debut on Springwatch in 2020, and then joined Autumnwatch that same year.
