EAMONN Holmes has appeared on TV for the first time since announcing his split from Ruth Langsford.
On Saturday, a spokesperson for the couple told The Sun on Sunday they were to split after 14 years of marriage.
Eamonn said the support shown by fans following the announcement had “meant so much” to himself and Ruth.
The 64-year-old told GB News: “Just before we move on we’d just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation.
“Your support for both of us is very much appreciated.”
In a statement, a spokesperson said: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”
Pals told The Sun on Sunday how the couple drifted apart in recent months and Eamonn had moved out.
However Ruth recently visited him when he had a spell in hospital.
She has confided to her closest friends that there is no way back for the marriage after their careers went separate ways.
Eamonn met Ruth in 1997 when they were introduced by mutual friends.
They went on to present This Morning on ITV1 together for 15 years.
