EAMONN Holmes has made his first public comment following bombshell news he has split from wife Ruth Langsford.
The TV presenter posted to Instagram this evening after The Sun on Sunday revealed the couple are planning to divorce.

The caption read: “My God , what a Cup Final , what a Result ! #MUFC European football next season too.
“The Magic of The Cup. Congratulations to the whole squad.”
Comments immediately starting to roll in asking Eamonn about today’s bombshell news.
One person wrote: “Awwww poor Ruth, what did you do?”
But someone else sympathetically said: “They might be in public eye but their troubles are their own. Very sad for them.”
In less than twenty minutes thousands of people had seen the post – the first public comment to come from either of them.
A spokesperson on behalf of Ruth and Eamonn said in a statement to The Sun on Sunday: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”
The much-loved presenting duo are negotiating a divorce in news which will devastate their millions of fans.
Pals told how the couple drifted apart in recent months.
Their work commitments “took them in different directions”, sources said.
But the pair were determined to stay friends and “keep things amicable” after being married for 14 years.
Ruth has recently been helping nurse her husband back to good health following a medical scare which resulted in him spending time in hospital.
Although the pair hadn’t been seen together for over two years, lasting appearing alongside one another in a social media skit on Instagram.
Days ago the 64-year-old Loose Women host updated fans by saying: “I look at Eamonn, who’s had his health and back problems, and it makes you realise how important your health is.
“I don’t know how much Eamonn’s mobility will improve. We live in hope. He does the physio, but there might have to be some acceptance that this might never be 100 percent right.”
Ruth, who presented This Morning on ITV1 with her hubby for 15 years, said Eamonn endured an operation on his back which went wrong, confining him to a wheelchair.
At one point, he fell and broke his shoulder.
Giving no hint to the fractures in their relationship, she went on: “It’s testing, but we manage as a family.”
The pair first met in 1997 when they were introduced by mutual friends and they dated for over a decade before Eamonn popped the question.
In 2002, she gave birth to their son, Jack Alexander Holmes. They got married at Elvetham Hall in Hampshire in 2010 and sold the rights to glossy mag Hello.
They won millions of fans presenting ITV’s This Morning together between 2006 and 2021.
Eamonn lately been starring on the breakfast show on GB News.
Their natural on-screen chemistry proved a regular hit with viewers across a variety of shows — though Eamonn.
In 2021, he told The Sun: “When you work together and you live together, there is no down time.
“Other TV presenters have a minor disagreement on set and then jump in their cars and go home. With us it can last all day!”

While the duo are both active on their Instagram accounts, they rarely post about each other.
Ruth’s most recent uploads have centred on her return to ITV daytime show Loose Women and her QVC clothing lines.
While she posts plentiful snaps and videos of her mum, Eamonn is usually nowhere to be seen.
In July 2022, he made an appearance in a video posted to her page,to promote her Feeling Fabulous event.
Meanwhile, Eamonn’s Instagram grid shows a similar story.
It is filled with family snaps as well as insights into life in a TV newsroom, yet Ruth – who he affectionately terms Ruthie – is rarely featured.

Eamonn’s recent image with Linda Lusardi also sparked concern from fans.
The 64-year-old shared a snap with the actress and TV presenter – showing fans snaps of their friendship spanning more than three decades.
In his caption, he wrote: “1982 v 2024 and she hasn’t changed a bit . My wonderful, close friend Linda Lusardi who I went to see today 42yr friendship x”
One fan was quick to quiz: “Where was poor Ruth?”
Another then added: “Where is your beautiful wife Ruth!
“Why or what are you trying prove!”

Ruth appeared to hint at struggles caring for Eamonn’s numerous health issues of late.
She was forced to clarify a comment about being “fed up” with her spouse amid his struggles – which have seen him in a wheelchair and on crutches.
It came after a remark Eamonn made on his GB News breakfast show.
He said: “I think my family are a bit fed up with me now.
“The kids are a bit embarrassed about how I move around or don’t move around, and Ruth’s getting a bit fed up with me.”
Ruth took the opportunity to clarify the comments on ITV daytime show Loose Women, which she often hosts.
She said: “I thought, well, I am and I’m not. Do you know what I mean? It’s human.
“You can’t help, but when you’re helping someone all the time and they’re very incapacitated it’s hard to be Florence Nightingale all the time.”
