THE Chase star Mark Labbett has split with girlfriend Hayley Palmer after a year of dating.
The 58-year-old star has been dating the 42-year-old Sky entertainment journalist for the past year.
Hayley confirmed the news on her Instagram Stories with a post that read: “It is with regret I announce that myself and Mark have gone our separate ways.
“We had the best year together and I truly wish him all the best for the future.”
She ended the messaged: “Off I go to listen to Taylor Swift”
The couple got together a year ago, with Mark sounding more loved up than ever at the beginning of this month as he spoke with Hayley about their relationship.
Mark explained how he hoped to sweep her off her feet and take her to a beloved place of theirs, Southsea, before a slap-up meal at a Toby Carvery.
In an exclusive interview, romantic Mark told The Sun at the time: “We found a bench in a peaceful spot by the beach and spent hours talking and getting to know each other, so we’ve decided to go back to celebrate our anniversary.
“As luck would have it, there’s a rather nice Beefeater near to where her parents live. They already know Hayley’s order — nachos and chips.”
“Our first date was perfect and I’m looking forward to sitting back on that bench with Mark,” Hayley said.
“It looks out to sea towards the Isle of Wight — a stunning spot. And then obviously on to the local Beefeater.”
Smitten Hayley added: “Obviously I think he’s very handsome. His cheek bones are better than mine. He’s such a striking man, so tall. He should be the next James Bond.
“He makes me feel amazing. If there are other people around, he always includes me and makes me feel really good. He’s so respectful and kind. I couldn’t be happier.”
While the pair admitted difficulties as their respective work sent them across the country, they loved being able to focus on their careers at the same time as their romance.
“We just get on so well, and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been,” Hayley said. “I feel good in myself — Mark is just my cherry on top. I’m incredibly happy.”
The pair shared a photo on the beach just last week as they marked the anniversary.
In the picture, Hayley happily cuddled into Mark’s 6ft 7in frame as they stood on the stones.
Mark is yet to make a public comment about the break up.
