THE full cast of Two Doors Down have enjoyed a meal together after reuniting in Glasgow.

Graeme ‘Grado’ Stevely, 35, who plays Alan in the hit BBC sitcom, shared a snap with his co-stars enjoying a “pre-match” meal.

The gang appeared at the BBC ComedyFestival at the Tron Theatre on Thursday night where they read an episode together.

Elaine C Smith (Christine), Eric (Alex Norton), Beth (Arabella Weir), Colin (Jonathan Watson), Cathy (Doon Mackichan), Michelle (Joy McAvoy), Ian (Jamie Quinn) and Gordon (Kieran Hodgson) were also pictured enjoying their dinner.

Grado wrote: “Pre-match meal with the troops before the BBC Comedy Festival at Tron Theatre.”

The show went from strength to strength since airing for the first time as a one-off special in 2013 before it was commissioned for the BBC network in 2016.

But the future of the popular sitcom, recently promoted to BBC One for its seventh series, has been a sensitive talking point following the sad passing of co-creator Simon Carlyle.

Cast members weren’t sure if the programme would continue after the talented writer, who dreamt up the show with pal Gregor Sharp, died aged 48 in August.

Speaking last year, Gregor said: “It’s too massive to think about. The past few months have been a one day a time job.

“It was an incredibly shocking and terrible thing that happened and we all felt it really deeply.

“But the timing of it was also incredibly weird because we were literally about to start editing and it was a strange experience to do that without him because he was always such a key voice.

“We were so focused on making this show the best we could and feeling that extra responsibility because he wasn’t there to see it through – so we wanted to get the show finished and on air and hope it goes down well with people.

“That’s all we’ve focused on and we haven’t thought about the future too much.”

And fans were begging for a new series after a Two Doors Down fave sparked rumours ahead of a meeting with show stars in March.
