EASTENDERS fans have savaged Whitney Dean’s exit as the show’s worst ever.
The new mum – who is played by actress Shona McGarty in the BBC soap – left Walford tonight on the bus for a new life in Wakefield.
Viewers know she had been devastated to discover Zack Hudson cheated on her on her wedding day and furiously called the whole thing off.
She told Zack: “It’s OK that you didn’t love me enough. Maybe I didn’t love you enough either, because if I did then maybe I wouldn’t have lied to you about Britney?
“I feel that love for Peach, we both do. But do you think maybe that love and that pain kept us together for longer than it should have.
“It gave us Dolly though and I’ll never regret the time we had together but it’s over.”
“I’m sorry I hurt you,” he told her.
“Me too,” she replied. “But it’s done now isn’t it and there’s no going back. I actually feel quite free.”
She promised Zack would be able to see Dolly as much as he wanted and they left things on relatively good terms – except for Zack exposing Bianca’s role in their break-up.
A furious Whitney told Bianca she wouldn’t be coming with her and left her sobbing in the flat.
And then she went to the Vic for a goodbye party and a brief slide show.
Having said goodbye to Callum, Linda, Chelsea and her wider family, Whitney packed up Britney and Dolly and left the pub.
Outside Stacey and Bernie arrived to say goodbye to her as Whitney insisted on getting the bus to her new life in Wakefield.
As she walked through the market the other traders applauded as she broke down in tears again.
Climbing on the bus with all her worldly possessions, she got on the bus with her baby and Britney – dressed in Whitney’s old hat – and with a final goodbye left Walford for good.
Now on her way to her new life in Wakefield – of all places – fans have been left distinctly unimpressed with her exit.
She even got a Julia’s theme send-off but fans hated it.

One wrote: ”Shona McGarty’s final episode might quite possibly be one of the worst episodes I’ve ever endured. That’s exactly what it felt like. I had to endure it. I never wanna hear the names Whitney, Britney or Peach & the phrase ‘what’s best for my daughters Zack’ ever again. #Eastenders”
A second said: “#EastEnders this is possibly up there with the worst ending especially for Whitney. I wish her and Jay got together had a baby and left the square happily ever after.”
Another added: “Thank God that’s over and Whitney and the Artful Dodger Brittany are gone. It was excruciatingly awful to watch, the worst most unnecessarily complicated exit ever. It was wrong in so many ways. If l never see or hear Bianca again it’s fine with me. What a waste. #Eastenders”
A fourth commented: “Worst exit story ever, Whitney deserved better after all the trauma they put her through on this show. Logging out until Christmas, what a disappointment #Eastenders”
