MATTHEW Wright has revealed he was hounded by a stalker – similar to Baby Reindeer’s Martha.

The veteran broadcaster, 58, opened up on his horror ordeal and said a chilling moment from the show happened to him in real life.

Netflix smash Baby Reindeer is based on Scots comic Richard Gadd’s stalking hell.

Gadd’s Donny character is pestered over a four-year campaign of terror by obsessive Martha, played by Jessica Gunning.

The seven-parter left viewers on the edge of their seats with a string of memorable scenes including a harrowing sexual assault.

However the moment Martha heckled Donny at a stand-up performance hit home for telly fave Matthew.

The chatshow host revealed his stalker similarly turned up to one of his show’s uninvited.

Appearing on Lorraine, he said: “The first moment [I resonated with the show] was episode two or three.

“He [Gadd] is doing his comedy act and she’s [Martha] suddenly in the audience.

“I did a charityfashionawards for my community centre and everybody had glammed up.

“This woman [my stalker]…I didn’t even recognise her.

“She was all glammed up with her hair done.

“She looked like a star but my wife said ‘That’s her’.

“I’m trying to interact with people but my wife said ‘We’ve got to go’.

“She followed us and it was all a bit…

“After that moment in my career, every time we went out the front door you wondered about what you were going to encounter.”

It comes after the “real Martha” bombarded Sir Keir Starmer with hundreds of emails, including taunts about his “ugly” wife.

Fiona Harvey told the Labour leader he was in a “non-job ”, was a “stupid little boy” and a “useless barrister”.
