A BRAND new TV channel airing the UK’s most beloved shows is set to launch.
Rewind TV promises to be the “destination channel for lovers of curated classic TV from around the world”.
A sizzle reel promoting the channel was released on social media to drum up even more excitement.
Within the video, an original song was included as the lyrics promised fans top quality content from across four decades.
The voices sang: “It’s time to catch up on all your favourites. Let’s go back in time, ain’t that amazing.”
Amongst the shows to be aired is the Return of the State Department S.
First released in 1969, the beloved show starred the likes of Peter Wyngarde, Joel Fabiani, Rosemary Nicols and Dennis Alaba Peters.
Oscar winner Sir Anthony Hopkins previously played the role of Greg Halliday in the 28-part British spy-fi adventure series.
Tony Hancock will return to TV screens with his self-titled 1963 ITV series that has never been repeated on UK TV before.
The stars of GlobeLink News will also make a return as the Channel 4 sitcom Drop The Dead Donkey is also included in the slate of programmes.
The 90’s Channel 4 sitcom aired across six series from 1990 to 1998.
Other shows that are set to air include The Beiderbecke Affair from 1985 and Shine On Harvey Moon from 1982.
Former Coronation Street star and legendary actor Nigel Havers will also return to the screens with his hit series, The Charmer.
Classic films will also be shown in the afternoon on the channel with Raise the Titanic being teased on the channel’s social media accounts.
The new network will launch on Sky on channel 190 on Thursday May 23.
