Not only does 23-year-old Michael perform excellently, he delivers a vocal performance with a never-before-seen twist.

During his epic performance, Michael opts to sing in a made-up language for his piece titled, Great Is The Grief.

Welcoming him to the middle of the station ready for his performance, Claudia says: “You compose for the piano but you also write songs for your voice.”

Michael replies: “What makes this piece very unique is that the words and the language is completely made-up.

“There is no meaning there, the meaning instead is in the music and the voice.”

Before taking his place on the Steinway, Michael opened up about some of the challenges that he had been faced with in his life and growing up.

He said: “I’ve always struggled to fit in and there’s a reason for that. I have neurodiversities. I have autism and I have ADHD as well.

“The piano has always been my rock, my way of expressing myself…

“What’s make this piece very unique is that the words, the language, is completely made up.

“There is no meaning there, the meaning instead is in the music and the voice.”

Mika and Lang Lang could be seen looking perplexed as they questioned how he would be able to perform an emotive piece using just made-up words.

In an operatic tone, Michael began to sing aloud without using any real words at all.

The mesmerising performance left passers-by gobsmacked as even Mika and Lang Lang were left stunned by how moving the unique piece could be.

Michael’s mum could also be seen bursting with happiness as Claudia remarks to her: “Well he’s clearly really rather brilliant, isn’t he? He has his own Michael language, I love that.”

The Piano’s second series has so far been a ratings winner for Channel 4 with the opening episode being watched by more than 3.4 million people.

It’s impressive ratings mark an increase of 21% on the equivalent episode of the previous year.
