BGT rules state that the golden buzzer can only be pressed once by each judge per series.
As Bruno shared an instagram snap to tease the new series, one fan commented: “Ditch the golden buzzer.”
Another added: “Get rid of the golden buzzer. There is no point in it anymore.”
“We need a platinum buzzer but I’m afraid they’ll sink the show with this over saturated buzzer,” penned a third.
A fourth echoed: “The golden buzzer was misused last year, obviously the rules will have been made clear this year.”
“No because we see bruno in a video saying ‘oops I pressed it again,” argued a fifth.
And a sixth wrote: “People getting through with the golden buzzer with a sob story.”
This year’s line-up of judges includes Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno.
Until Bruno’s arrival last year, the judges all stuck to just one buzz a series.
But this season, Simon Cowell, 64, has revealed there will be a record nine golden buzzers used.
And the head judge has admitted he is all for the chaos.
He said: “I love that there aren’t any rules on the show any more.
“It is kind of like being back at school, because the teachers keep coming in saying, ‘You know, can we try and keep the golden buzzers down?’
“And they know we’ve got absolutely no intention whatsoever of doing that.
“I keep saying, ‘Look, if something happens or the audience in particular are telling us, then we kind of have to’.
“I think they secretly love when it happens, but they have to try and keep us in check.
“But I don’t think it matters. I mean, we don’t want to get to the point where you’ve got 20 golden buzzer acts, but I think eight or nine is fine.”
The new series of Britain’s Got Talent is set to kick-off this Saturday at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
