Fans of Bridgerton have blasted Netflix for their delayed release schedule[/caption] The first half of the series was released today on the streaming giant[/caption] But they will have to wait over a month for the second batch of episodes after a dramatic cliffhanger[/caption]The streaming giant previously confirmed that the third outing of Bridgerton would be released in seperate sections.
Today, the first four episodes dropped on the streaming giant, to much excitement of fans of The Ton.
Unfortunately, they will have a while to wait as the second batch of episodes will not be released until for another month.
June 13 is the highly-anticipated date where the story of Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) will reach a climax.
However, fans are not just fuming about the long wait between the episodes.
They were also left absolutely raging by the way executive producer Shonda Rhimes chose to draw the fourth episode to a close, warning there is a spoiler ahead.
They took to X – formerly known as Twitter – in their droves to express their anger as they were utterly engrossed in the storyl
One wrote: “You mean to tell me i have to wait for part 2 for another month after that cliffhanger?????? #BRIDGERTON#BridgertonSeason3,” along with an angry GIF.
A second noted: “You got me hot then a cliffhanger?? Damn you @shondarhimes #BRIDGERTON #Penelope#Collins”
This was as a third superfan stated: “Dearest gentle reader, I think I may be deceased since I have to wait another month after that cliffhanger #BRIDGERTON.”
“THEY CHOSE TO END PART ONE LIKE THAT?!?! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE “THEY CHOSE TO END PART ONE LIKE THAT?!?! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE,” exclaimed a fourth viewer.
This was as a fifth posted: Them ending the 4th episode at that marry me cliffhanger is so sick of them like I knew it was gonna happen bit still.”
They added: “I had to wait until june 10 for part 2 it’s gonna be unbearable.”
Whilst a sixth viewer raged: “The MONTH gap for the next 1/2 of Season 3 is a f****** waste of time & really pisses me off. Stupid cliffhanger. I need season 3 part 2 right now .”
They added “It’s so greedy. Cannot believe after a 2 year wait they are making us wait more especially ending the 1st 1/2 on a cliffhanger. #Bridgerton Way to treat your loyal fans @Netflix.”
The first half of the series came to a close after Lord Debling (Sam Phillips) brought his courtship with Penelope to a close after Colin intervened in their dance.
Colin decided to spontaneously declare his romantic feelings for his longtime friend on their way home.
Penelope eventually caved into her desire as the pair enjoyed a moment of passion in the carriage.
As they were interrupted by their arrival at Bridgerton House, in a beautifully recreated scene from the Julia Quinn novel, he asked: “For god’s sake Penelope Featherington, are you going to marry me or not?”
The last dramatic shot we see is of an anxious Penelope – hot under the collar from their steamy encounter – breathing heavily as she did not answer the question.
