SINCE ditching the Dales, Emmerdale star Micah Balfour has gone onto be a much-sought after actor.
The star has now landed a brand new job on rival soap EastEnders.

Born in Peckham, London on July 18, 1978, Micah Balfour is an English actor known for his work both on the stage and screen.
He kicked off his television career in 2006 by starring in the legendary police drama, The Bill.
The talented star is also known for his theatre work, and has starred in some huge productions.
His stage credits include The Royal Hunt of the Sun and Market Boy at the Royal National Theatre (2006), and Absolute Beginners at The Lyric Hammersmith (2007).
Who does Micah Balfour play in EastEnders?
Micah plays pub landlord George Knight’s estranged son Junior Knight in EastEnders.
He made his debut on May 14, 2024, where his character was seen squaring up to his father in the boxing ring.
Speaking about joining Albert Square, Micah said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the cast of EastEnders as part of the Knight family.
“I grew up watching the show and many of the characters have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, so walking onto the Square for the first time was the most surreal experience of my career!
“It’s a privilege to work with Colin Salmon, who I’ve watched with admiration for many years, and Francesca Henry and Molly Rainford, who are dynamite on screen, as well as the amazing Harriet Thorpe and Kellie Bright.
“Junior is an exciting character to play as he’s a complex man, and he’s going to cause a bit of a stir!”
What else has Micah Balfour starred in?
The Bill
Micha is known for playing PC Gayle in The Bill[/caption]Micah played two characters on the much-loved 90s cop drama, The Bill.
He first appeared as Asher Campbell between 2005 and 2006.
However in 2007, he began portraying a different character in a regular role called PC Benjamin Gayle.
Micah played the popular bobby on the show until The Bill was cancelled in 2010.
Doctor Who Christmas Special
The actor starred alongside Matt Smith in Doctor Who[/caption]Not long after leaving The Bill, Micah bagged a part in the 2010 festive special of Doctor Who, playing the role of the co-pilot.
He starred alongside Matt Smith who was playing the Time Lord at the time.
Called A Christmas Carol, the synopsis for the episode reads: “A space liner carrying more than four thousand passengers loses control when passing through strange electrified clouds over a human-inhabited planet.
“The Eleventh Doctor discovers the clouds are controlled by the bitter old man Kazran Sardick, who refuses to allow the ship to land safely.”
Emmerdale
Micha was part of the cast of Emmerdale[/caption]Micha played Dr Jermaine Bailey in Emmerdale from 2015 to 2016.
On the show he played the local village doctor who found himself in hot water.
In the soap his biggest storyline was when his character was in relationship with his seventeen-year-old patient Belle Dingle which cost him his job and his marriage.
Speaking about leaving Emmerdale, Micah said at the time how “sad” he was to go.
Addressing his exit on X, then known as Twitter, the actor even admitted his character wasn’t always the most popular on the soap.
He tweeted: “I know Jermaine wasn’t everybody’s cup of tea but I had a great time on #emmerdale! They made a fan out of me!”
Micah then replied to a fan who shared their sadness over his departure from the Dales, and said: “Me too.”
Death In Paradise
Much like a lot of famous TV actors, Micah has starred in an episode of Death In Paradise.
Micah also appeared alongside Ralf little in Death In Paradise[/caption]He appeared on the show for it’s 12th season in 2023 alongside Ralf Little.
Playing the role of Roy Hamilton, the episode saw DI Neville Parker and his team investigate the murder of a former children’s home resident.
The Gold
Before joining EastEnders, the actor starred in the BBC smash hit The Gold, alongside Dominic Cooper.
He appeared in two episodes of the show that aired in 2023, and played Keith Potts.
The Gold was inspired by true events surrounding the 1983 Brink’s-Mat robbery, and the remarkable story that followed.
