BBC Breakfast’s Sally Nugent was forced to apologise to Carol Kirkwood after getting ‘distracted’ in the middle of a live report.
Yesterday, fans of the show were delighted when Carol, 61, returned after taking a break from the BBC programme.
The weather lady was back again today alongside Sally and her co-host Jon Kay.
Before one of Carol’s forecasts, Jon revealed celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall would be joining them in the studio with some treats as he promoted his new diet.
But Sally, 52, replied: “Treats made out of vegetables? There’s no chocolate in there, is there?”
Jon, 54, said: “Carol’s got the weather in the meantime. Is that a treat, Carol?”
Carol wasn’t so sure, as she revealed many parts of the UK could expect rain showers over the next few days.
As her forecast came to a close, Sally was forced to apologise as she said: “Carol thank you very much indeed. Sorry we’re a tiny bit distracted because we’re talking about food.”
The camera came back to the journalists in the studio, and they had been joined by Hugh and his treats.
Jon said: “We’ve got cake! The cake has arrived on the table!”
However, Carol took it all in her stride and bared no grudge against her co-stars for not concentrating on her report.
Yesterday, Carol was praised for her “Old Hollywood Glamour” look on BBC Breakfast.
The star wore a blush pink figure-hugging skirt and matching silky top.
One fan noted: “#BBCBreakfast Carol is looking very Jayne Mansfield this morning..”
A second viewer gushed: “Accidentally tuned into #BBCBreakfast this morning, Carol Kirkwood looks good doesn’t she!! #BBCBreakfast
A third added: “Loved seeing Lorraine Kelly and Strictly win at the @BAFTA last night. Even better waking up to a glamorous Carol Kirkwood this morning! Old Hollywood comes to mind. #BBCBreakfast.”
