CORONATION Street’s Bernie Winter has confessed she has another child – met him and not realised it was him in tonight’s whirlwind of an episode.
The cleaner – who is played by actress Jane Hazlegrove in the ITV soap – confessed her secret to Dev tonight.

“I had another baby,” she told a stunned Dev.
“Zodiac. Zac for short. And I wasn’t good enough to be his mum and he ended up in care. I’ve been trying to find him.”
Explaining how she had met a random in the Hacienda and got off with him and ended up pregnant.
But life with a baby alone saw Bernie have a breakdown and Zac was taken into care – and eventually adopted.
“I was his mam and I failed him,” she sobbed to Dev.
Bernie went on to explain how she’s been searching for her son for a while but had been unable to find him so far.
However later, having unwittingly met her son and him denying being adopted, Bernie confessed the truth to Dev.
She told him she willingly gave him up because he got in the way of her partying.
Dev was horrified at her lies and tried to make excuses for herself but the reality was that she already had her twins and just “couldn’t be bothered” with a third baby.
“Nothing was going to stand between me and a good time,” she said.
Corrie bosses have cast a former Hollyoaks star in the role.
The Sun exclusively revealed how actor Jacob Roberts has joined the ITV soap as Bernie’s long-lost son.
And it can now be revealed that the character is also a police detective brought in to investigate the mysterious presumed murder of Lauren Bolton.
Actor Jacob said: “It’s absolutely amazing to be joining the cast of Coronation Street.
“When I walked on set for the first time it felt a bit overwhelming because the attention to detail is just incredible, it actually makes you feel that you are on a real street.
“My mum and dad are really chuffed too which is lovely. My mum has always watched Coronation Street, I’ve always kept up to date with it too, so it just feels surreal to be here.
“Meeting all of the cast and crew was great, I really do feel at home here.

“He’s been really hurt throughout his life and although he has a good heart, he has some deep rooted resentment with his biological mum, Bernie, which will be really interesting to play out.”
