GREAT British Bake Off star Candice Brown’s media company La Vie En Farine has gone into liquidation with debts at £44,850.
La Vie En Farine, which translates from French to English as ‘Life in Flour’, was reported on Companies House as a business of ‘public relations and communications activities.’
The star’s company includes a pub, which she is still half-owner of[/caption]Candice’s firm owe £45,500 in corporation tax and £250 in trade and expense creditors.
Its assets at liquidation reported as £35,500 owed to the business by Brown – estimated to realise ‘uncertain’ – and £1,000 in cash.
Its debts and assets are reported in a statement of affairs signed by Brown last month. The liquidator is Liverpool-based John Fisher.
Brown set the business up in 2016, the same year she shot to fame after her win on the seventh season of the Great British Bake Off.
Brown has declared £110,008 in dividends across the five sets of accounts it has filed at Companies House.
The comany netted £160,732 in her first year of trading and at its peak it held £128,582 in accumulated earnings for her.
Candice still owns half of her pub, The Green Man in Eversholt, Milton Keynes, but is no longer a director.
The Green Man is solvent, with the last accounts filed noting £23,004 in profits held.
This new blow comes after Candice was left heartbroken in January after her hard-won Bake Off trophy was left shattered after Storm Jocelyn.
The glass cake stand is the sole reward given in the competition, which at the time of her win was on the BBC.
After winning the trophy, Candice went on to become a household name with cooking segments on daytime TV, regular appearances on shows like This Morning, as well as public appearances.
She and her brother Ben took over The Green Man in 2018, refurbishing and reopening the business with Candice in charge of the pub’s menu.
She’s also released two cookbooks, Comfort and Happy Cooking, both of which have become bestsellers upon their released.
The Sun Online has reached out to Brown for further comment or clarification.
