CORONATION Street fans have called out a glaring plot hole as Nathan Curtis makes his return to the show.

The character, played by actor Christopher Harper, was famously involved in Bethany Platt’s grooming scandal throughout 2017.

Whilst he was ultimately committed for his crime of running a grooming gang, Nathan has been released from prison and is now seemingly back roaming around Weatherfield.

During Lauren Bolton’s disappearance reconstruction, Bethany spied a figure across the way donning a high-vis jacket.

Skulking in the background, Bethany appeared to recognise the man as her sex attacker Nathan Curtis.

Bethany appeared shook to the core as she was left speechless and stunned at who she saw stood before her.

Nathan disappeared with in a flash – appearing to be unaware that Bethany had seen him.

It sent Bethany into a tailspin as she raced home to tell Daniel everything as she was left rattled by what had just occurred as the memories of her abuse flooded back in abundance.

However, ITV viewers were quick to call out how Bethany would have been alerted to Nathan’s release by the authorities as a result of her being a victim of his heinous crimes.

Pulling apart the plot hole online, one fuming fan said: “Bethany would’ve been informed that Nathan was being released?”

Another added:  “Why did nobody tell Bethany that Nathan got released?”

A third went on to write: “Daniel pointing out the massive plot hole that surely Bethany should’ve been told about Nathan being released.”

Someone else penned: “How is Nathan out and why was Bethany not informed, inept soap policing as usual, where is the justice #Corrie.”

Whilst another soap fan questioned: “Wouldn’t the police have had to tell Bethany about him being released?”

Even Daniel was left bemused by Weatherfield Police being able to release him without telling Bethany as he insisted for that reason it was not him.

Biting back, a defiant Bethany said: “He’s supposed to be, but it was him. He was right there, I saw him, Daniel, I saw him.”

Later, she confessed to seeing him in visions often when she is in public but she reassures herself that it cannot be him as he is in prison.

However, this time she is convinced that she saw him as clear as day and nothing can change her mind about it.
