BRITAIN’S Got Talent star Taryn Charles has opened up about her struggles after appearing on the show.

The singer was awarded a golden buzzer by Bruno Tonioli after performing  (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin.

Taryn Charles was given a golden buzzer which will take her straight through the semi-finals

But despite her huge success on the show she hinted that she’s struggling to leave the house or be in social situations.

She shared a meme that read: “Went outside today, it was very peoplely out there. Do not recommend”.

On her Instagram bio, Taryn says that she is a “neurodivergent warrior”.

Neurodivergence is an umbrella term that describes people whose brains develop or work differently to ‘neurotypical’ peoples’ brains.

Autism and ADHD (attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder) are both types of neurodivergence.

Many people with autism and ADHD find social settings tough due to being overstimulated or overwhelmed.

The vocalist, 39, works as a special needs educator, using the power of music to help rehabilitate children.

But she was dragged into a ‘fix row’ erupting amongst fans after it was revealed that she had already been on another ITV show.

Viewers recognised her from Starstruck, a singing contest where members of the public impersonate showbiz stars.

Olly Murs hosted the show with Sheridan Smith, Adam Lambert and Beverley Knight among the judges as ordinary people turned into Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande and Michael Buble among others.

Taryn appeared on the show as Whitney Houston and sang “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)” along with two other singers.

Taking to X – formally known as Twitter – viewers are fuming as they claim Taryn getting the golden buzzer is a fix.

One said: “I remember Taryn from Starstruck #BGT”

Another wrote: “I remember Taryn she was Whitney on Starstruck great voice!”

But sources have hit back at claims that the show can be fixed.

Insiders told The Sun despite the acts taking multiple leaps at stardom, there is “no unfair advantage”.

“The winner is crowned by the public vote,” they said, “It’s fair game, as all acts are voted for by the public.

“The show has never hidden the fact that auditions are open to everybody, irrespective of previous experience, and everybody is given the same opportunity on the show”.

After her performance on BGT, she was given a standing ovation from the judges which left her in floods of tears.

Despite getting Bruno’s backing, it seemed that she was hoping to impress one judge in particular: Simon Cowell.

The pair had a chance encounter over two decades ago.

“When I was growing up, he worked at a record label near our house,” Taryn told the Mirror

“I met him when I was 15 and said to him, ‘You’re gonna give me a record deal one day’.”
